At the very heart of me is the illustrator. Illustration is the art form that got me started on my career path, and it eventually lead me to where I am today. As a young kid I remember drawing police cars on the back of my mom’s recipe cards (which I'm sure she still has tucked away somewhere). In my teens, never dropping below ninty-five percent in art class was something that helped keep my grade average in the acceptable range. After graduating I thought animation was what suited me, but a year with the CBC series ‘The Raccoons’ taught me otherwise. Afterwards, while working as an Illustrator for a T-shirt company in the 80‘s, someone dropped a computer on my desk and said "figure this thing out". I did, and the rest is history.
Nowadays, I generally hand draw all my ideas on paper first, scan them into the Mac, and then use Illustrator to create the final product. I like the flexibility of vector drawings as they can be enlarged or reduced to any size without fear of image degradation.
I don’t illustrate nearly as much as I’d like to anymore, but when it’s called upon I happily welcome it back.

Above: This is my version of the Quigley coat of arms which I designed to have as a tattoo. I was always hesitant to get a tattoo, but with the passing of my father in 2007 I decided just this year to get one. Live life with no regrets!
